100% plastic-free sportswear is no small feat

Plastic has served us well. It has become part of our lives. Even our sportswear is made of it. However, the convenience of synthetics has had major consequences. Firstly, there is textile waste that we don’t know what to do with. Then there are the microplastic fibres that these clothes constantly leak into the air and onto our skin. Above all, it’s the chemistry of these materials that poses a threat to our health. The very same chemicals that make them so versatile — stretch, rainproof or even fire-resistant — are also poisoning us.

Plastics have been problematic from the outset, and we are now realising the costs. Even so, we feel like there’s no way out, not knowing what to do or where to start. But what if a roadmap had been laid out for us all along?

In sports, nature is often shown as the backdrop, scenery for us to enjoy while we do the active part. A playground. But that's not true. We forget that nature is the creative force behind every moment of our lives and every movement we make. This huge potential is there, ready and waiting to be developed. Plastic Free is a new way of thinking about an old idea: co-creating with nature.

It's good for the planet. It ensures that we don't leave any traces of chemicals or waste behind, except for a trail of nutrients thanks to natural materials that can be digested by the outdoors we roam in.

And it's good for us, too. Sportswear without plastic offers a level of comfort that synthetics cannot match. It's about core breathability — a natural way of dealing with sweat and heat — and understanding how our body moves, enjoying how it works, and interacting with the world around us in a deeper way.

Going plastic-free means reconnecting with nature and embracing the many ways we are connected to one another.

Plastic-free living is not just about saying no to toxic materials; it's a statement: It's proof that plastic is not the endgame. Neither in the way we produce nor in the way we consume. We don't need plastic or its derivatives in sports. With Plastic Free, we’re sending a message that plastic is only temporary and that we know where to go from here, reintegrating nature into our equation.
