1/9Awareness

Increase awareness towards the microplastics plague – to which sportswear contributes drastically – and have a scalable impact. Through a complete functional multilayer collection, we demonstrate that biodegradable, nature inspired solutions are not only more comfortable, but often more performant than synthetic equivalents.

3/9Materials

We all like to be dressed in nature. Cotton, wool, silk, hemp, nettle, linen are the best natural fabrics in terms of their performance- they respond to your body offering full protection in times of trouble, and just enough circulation in times of warmth. When applied to sportswear, to make these materials compete with synthetics, it all depends on how you think, weigh, weave, assemble, sew, combine and use. We have proven unbeaten breathability, improved thermal regulation, complete wind resistance, efficient water resistance, superior comfort, more durability. All this 100% PLASTIC FREE.

4/9Sourcing

All our products are cut and sewed in Europe by skilled and certified manufacturers, while our knitwear program is made in Inner Mongolia, the homeland of wool. We chose to work with Swiss-made high-density woven cotton fabrics, swiss alpaca wool from the Simplon Pass, non mulesed merino wool from New Zealand and Australia, certified Organic or upcycled Cotton made in Portugal, Portuguese horn buttons, organic cotton cords and webbings, plastic free zippers made in Turkey... Our woven labels are made in Italy and our cardboard boxes are crafted in Switzerland. Mover’s sourcing approach is always the same:  look around you before searching any further.

5/9Product Development

Our research and development is all made in-house in Lausanne, while the prototypes are field-tested and challenged by professional adventurers under real conditions, harsh weather and various temperature ranges. Over the years, we acquired a unique understanding of natural materials interacting with each other. We tested their advantages and assimilated their limits. Most our ideas emerge from an empirical approach, where observation and comprehension of the environment are key. With the help of our dedicated team, we are able to constantly imagine, learn from our experience and instigate new paradigms.

6/9Manufacturing

Our partners’ crafts are precious to us: the unique expertise and assemblage techniques of our Portuguese manufacturers, or the knitwear mastery of our partner in Inner Mongolia are key factors to our success. On top of this, the quality of our raw materials and trims, as well as our own care for details, also contribute to creating crafted products that are far from the usual industry standards. This not only justifies our eco-friendliness, promotion of local expertise and natural fibers, but it is also a guarantee of product quality and integrity.

7/9Carbon Footprint

At Mover, we designed our own logistic model in order to reduce transport and distances. By sourcing fabrics and materials around our production sites, by avoiding sea and air transportation, we have a direct impact on our carbon footprint. Choosing a B2C model, we have optimized our operations flow by appointing a logistic partner close to our production site in Portugal and capable of delivering our final customer directly from La Coruna in Spain. And when final goods come from further away, like our wool knitwear, they take the train – and a little more time - to take the scenic route to Europe.

8/9Packaging

Think outside the box … or simply rethink the box. Without plastic and with some problem solving. Solid enough to be reused a few times, nice enough to be proud of, recycled enough to be upcycled, compact enough to remain affordable. We were able to completely ban plastic from our packaging, while organizing the clothes` journey in the most sustainable way. We also minimized the wrapping and hangtags to …. one single QR code. Because Less is Beautiful and less harmful!

9/9End of Life Cycle

Have you ever seen a dead bird in the forest ? Neither did we, even though we trek a lot. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, complete biodegradability is our way to consider our product’s End of Life Cycle. Because after being used, repaired, reused and repaired again, our products should simply vanish. Compostable in the true sense of the term, meaning that all the materials used, including trims, buttons, cords, threads – with no exception – will naturally end up as plant fertilizers. Or put philosophically: Leave no trace.
